Khyber Pakhtunkhwa occupies an area of 101741KM2, the province has various varieties of mineral resources. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken important steps toward merit and transparency, a new regime has been introduced which ensures transparency and accountability through effective implementation of modern state of art technology. Reforms have been made for collection of excise duty on minerals by introducing a new legislation namely "Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Duty on Minerals (Labour Welfare) Act, 2020" to generate more funds for welfare facilities of mine labours. Furthermore, most of the minerals resources are located in relatively poor areas of the Province and minerals extraction is therefore likely to benefit the deprived sector of the society by providing welfare facilities at the mining areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
